Who We Are
Founded by Steve King of Anne Grady Services, Roy Cherry of the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio, and Tim Menke of Lott Industries, Hopability Brewery was created around a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves the opportunity to work, contribute, connect, and be part of their community.
Together, our founders represent 164 years of combined organizational history serving and supporting the Northwest Ohio community, with deep roots in creating opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Anne Grady Services has been supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities since 1982; the Epilepsy Foundation of Northwest Ohio was founded in 1977; and Lott Industries has been creating employment and other opportunities for people with developmental disabilities since 1955.
But Hopability is about looking forward.
Our mission is to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities while creating a welcoming gathering place for the entire community. A place where people can come together, share a beer, meet a friend, celebrate differences, and discover what is possible when we build a community where everyone belongs.
At Hopability, inclusion isn't an afterthought. It's the foundation.
We believe a brewery can be more than a place to grab a pint. It can be a place to find purpose. A place to make connections. A place to learn, grow, work, laugh, and belong.
And, of course, it should have really good beer.
